This could set up some issues at the Vuelta. If JV isn't strong enough to beat Pogacar and others at the Tour, he'll likely look to the Vuelta to save his season. Just like Sepp Kuss. That could be a real issue.

Now that we're only a few days from the start of the Tour, we know JV and Van Aert will be riding, but Kuss won't, because of a Covid infection. Pogacar seems to be in the form of his life but if he beats JV people are apt to assume JV wasn't at his best. This could also set up Visma for problems at the Vuelta. If JV doesn't win the Tour, he'll probably want to save his season with a win at the Vuelta. But Kuss, having missed the Tour will be hungry to defend his 2023 Vuelta win. Organizers need to do more to protect riders. There's no excuse for that concrete water trough, or whatever it is, not at least being covered over. There were some extremely dangerous hazards at the Giro as well.

Well that is a huge blow to the American audience. Best scenario now from an American perspective is for Jonas to ship a bunch of time in the first few days and ride the Tour in support of Matteo.

Well I hate to see that Sepp is a heck major part of Jonas's arsenal. This year Jonas doesn't have attacks coming left & right to wear Tadej down & take advantage of him. This year it's more mono a mono Jonas verses Tadej. Tadej is the better cyclist regardless of his loss to Jonas team (not the individual) Tadej with his team as sharp as they are will turn the tables on JumboVismaLeasabike this years Le Tour no doubt. 🇨🇵🚵‍♀️👍🏻💯🇸🇮
